What is Flower Farming?

Though it may be romantic to think that the flowers you purchase in a flower shop were picked from wild bushes in the countryside, the reality is quite different. In actuality, most flowers are farmed all around the world and imported to different countries. Flower farming refers to the practice of farming cut flowers and selling them in na commercial market. Whether that is for a flower shop, supermarkets, events, weddings, etc., it is an essential part of flower farming. The farming can be done in many different ways depending on the type of flower, climate conditions, etc.. Some are grown in large greenhouses, some grow in open fields, and others are grown completely indoors in climate controlled buildings. Flower farming can be a very profitable line of work, in some cases more than other types of crop farming. Overall, it is a very important and interesting type of agriculture that many often disregard!
