The Health Benefits of Bread

For many years now, bread has been deemed unhealthy due to its high amount of carbs, making many people exclude it from their diet. However, bread isn’t always as bad as society has painted it to be. Firstly, bread can be a great source of fiber, which is important for the digestive system. This is especially true for non-white breads like whole wheat and wholemeal. Though it should not be the main source of these nutrients, many white breads are fortified with calcium, iron, vitamins, and other nutrients to make it healthier. Breads made from whole grains provide a higher amount of health benefits than white bread due to the grains present. The grains have Vitamin B, iron, magnesium, and fiber, which are all important for different bodily functions. Of course it is important to eat everything in moderation, but incorporating whole grain bread into your diet can provide you with many benefits!
